‘Traveling ‘Troubadour’

Larry SchlesserIsland News

The island has entertainment in the evenings that range from good old Rock & Roll to some pretty good solo artists. The Rock of course is mostly the late night crowd and night life that I personally am not into, though I know many are.

Personally I love to go to dinner hear a good artist perform, sing some songs and still have the volume of the artist low enough where I can enjoy dinner and the people I am with at dinner. Low enough to have a choice – listen to the music or listen to the people I am at dinner with. Nice.

Last week we had just the experience with a relative newcomer to the island Jon Fritz. Jon, originally from the Washington D.C. area, is a traveling ‘troubadour’ of sorts. Over the past few years he has lived in six Central American or South American countries. The ‘Eagles’, soft ‘ Beatles’, James Taylor, Jim Croce and many others. A very enjoyable solo act.

Jon has played in West Bay and West End at various venues and now is booked on Thursday & Saturday nights at the new ‘Jack’s Harborview’ restaurant in French Harbor. You should ask around and find out where he is playing and make it a point to see him. Or maybe email him at jonfritz@live.com
Enjoy, we did.
