Although I have mentioned this group, ‘CATTLEYA’ previously, I wished to do this again in that right now they are having a fund raiser and thought that maybe some of you may be moved to help out this new school providing for ‘Special Education’ students.
Through this web site charitable organizations are offered the opportunity to have the general public bid on things many would buy when they live or visit here anyway and can use this venue to not only get what they want but also help out a great cause.
“CATTLEYA” is a school for ‘Special Needs’ Children & Young Adults. As one would imagine the budget for these type schools in a very developing country like Honduras is all but non-existent, so it is up to the parents to do the best they can for their children.
I know many of my readers either live here or want to live here, vacation here and invest here and my thought is why not buy something on this site that you will probably buy anyway, only help out at the same time?
The name “CATTLEYA” was born during one of our Parent Support group meetings. We are an advocate group of people made up of Parents and Volunteers with special interest in helping children and young adults with Special needs and Intellectual disabilities.
“Cattleya” is a name of an Orchid, and the name given to a child born with Down’s syndrome, who we knew of, but never had the privilege to meet. At the time she was born, so was our group beginning with awareness programs.
Please take the time to go to the site and see if there is not a restaurant you may wish to visit or a fishing trip you may want to take or something that you can bid on, get a bargain and help out all at the same time.
Thank you for reading.
