People are drawn at times to islands for many reasons. The laid back life style, the lower expenses and tropical climate. Some have said that what
God did not give to the people of Central America he more than made up for in natural habitat. The lack of cold weather, the plentiful fruits, veggies and seafood allows people with little to live well and certainly no go hungry.
Although the island is world renown for it’s diving, snorkeling and spectacular coral reefs, one can easily find considerable adventure on the island and within this country.
There has been much written on what you can do on the island but little
island sites that talk about what is available in this country. We have taken advantage of some of these things and will continue to explore this spectacular environment. If you are into history there certainly is plenty of that.
Copan Runinas holds the oldest and some say the best Mayan Ruins in the world at the present rate of excavation of just what has already been discovered experts will be continuing to discover for 200 years.
The ancient City of Comayagua centuries ago was the Capital of Central America for Spain which originally an area that encompassed Honduras, Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. A peaceful and pleasant small city with friendly people and much to view.
If you are into River Rafting we have just the adventure you are looking foron the Cangrejal River near LaCeiba. There are several B & B’s that are what I would call ‘rustic luxury’ with gorgeous waterfalls adding to the ‘mystic’ of the jungle nearby.
