If you have not been on the island one thing I will say is that with all the cultures, both the several Honduran cultures on the island and foreigners that now have a new place to hang their bathing suits, most that come here rave about the food. I had one client tells me he wanted to move here because the food he got made his taste buds explode! On the island you can get anything from great steaks and down home BBQ to some of the freshest seafood you have ever had.
In the past few weeks three new restaurants have opened and I have not heard a bad word about any. Sunset Grill, Asia Xpress & Roatan Oasis
Sunset Grill (formerly the Crazy Mango) opens tonight in West End or better said their Grand Opening is tonight. A few were invited last week for a ‘soft opening’ to great revues.
A new Chinese Restaurant has opened on the island on the main road in Coxen Hole. It is located heading east just past Sun gas & BoJangles across the street from SolGas is a newer restaurant called Asia Express. I have talked with some who have a reputation for having a pretty good pallet and they raved about the food.
Roatan Oasis on the road heading towards West Bay from West End is rapidly becoming a hangout for local ex-pats and tourists alike. It is operated by a British couple that really seem to have a handle on customer service, consistency and quality. What it lacks in parking it more than makes up for in good food and a fun atmosphere.
