I have been asked many times about some of the best things about living in the Bay Islands and although there are many one that I am particularly fond of is the Blue Harbor Tropical Arboretum. Started by a couple of U.S. AID workers in the late ’90s it now is quite the sight to behold and when you visit the island you certainly should make it a point to stop by.
Food is a big deal when you really think about it. And when you can get all the marvelous fresh fruits, veggies and seafood that this island has to offer and all right at your fingertips, (including fresh lettuce and other items that stay fresh in your fridge for weeks instead of days because it is grown right here).
Eat well, be well. In most instances while visiting here and living here, if you are the average North American you will eat different when you are here. Fresher/healthier. You taste buds will thank you, your waistline will thank you, your heart will thank you. One more reason to start an ‘island life’.
Check out the Blue Harbor web site here and make a visit there your next trip to the island.
