Destination Bay Islands
The Bay Islands are considered the last of the Caribbean frontiers. The islands can be reached by a short flight from North America, and they are mainly English speaking. The Bay Islands have three distinct sections for your real estate needs: investment, vacation, retirement/relocation. Plus, Roatan has a new hospital, which abides by U.S. standards.
In addition, clear skies, blue water, beautiful beaches, friendly people, a safe environment, and access to modern amenities make the Bay Islands unique. Thirty years ago, premier destinations were the British Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, and the Cayman Islands, today it is the Bay Islands.
HCR Open – Hospital CEMESA Roatan – Opens
My wife, Nancy and I are on our seventeenth year of living in paradise, and I can honestly say the opening of the CEMESA Hospital may be the single biggest event we have witnessed since we arrived.
Having a hospital in the Bay Islands, which abides by U.S. standards is a really big deal. A quality hospital, which provides care 24 hours a day, seven days a week (at a fraction of the price you will pay for health care in the United States), provides a great peace of mind.
Discovery Tour-Upcoming Choices

Each year we host a Discovery and Investment Tour on Roatan.
During this time, we place participants in a classroom setting, and they are given the opportunity to listen to a variety of professionals discuss law, accounting, medical insurance, and life in general on the island. During a typical move, people will often conduct this type of research on their own, but moving to a foreign country can induce a variety of new questions, and you may not easily find answers on your own. This is where we can help!
We provide a Question and Answer session, a two-day tour of the island in an air conditioned bus, and should you decide you are interested in purchasing property, we also allot for individual time you can spend with an agent.
Watch for a mini version of the Discovery and Investment Tour offered via video in the upcoming months. Before watching the video, we will work to collect some basic information regarding who you are, your goals, timelines, and budget.
We believe a trip to the Bay Islands to explore and experience the Discovery and Investment Tour in person is the best option for anyone who is seriously considering a move here. However, we also believe the videos will provide a wealth of knowledge.
If you think you would like to participate in an upcoming Discovery and Investment Tour, please respond to this email, as it will help with our planning. Last year we announced a new tour in July, and we were sold out by September. We did have one cancelation so we were able to take on a latecomer, but we limit the quantity of people in order to make the tour a concierge service level.
Dental Health Care
Our local dental care provider has a new Health Care Plan. For $180.00, patients receive two cleanings, unlimited visits, consultations, and discounts on other services such as implants, veneers, and root canals. Agent of the Month
This month our Agent of the Month is Alex Poirier.

Tiny Houses
I realize that tiny houses are the rage on reality TV and maybe because I am 6’5” I do not pay too much attention to them, but recently, I have had two clients ask me about their availability on the island.
Tiny houses are not available, but like last month, in regard to the survey we took, I would like to hear from anyone who would be interested in a tiny home. I may be able to pass your request on to some builders. Just let me know.
