“How much could we get for our house or condo in today’s market?” “How long would it take to sell?” “Does it make sense to make a move now, or should we wait?” What exactly is our market like? Is it time to buy? Time to Sell?

Even if you’re not the least bit serious about making a move, you probably ask yourself questions like these from time to time. Most people do. It’s natural.

Are you a seller? If yes, I’d be happy to give you a clear idea of what the current market value of your property is and what to expect should you decide to sell. There’s no obligation. We do not have all the comparisons you may have in a U.S. or Canadian neighborhood but we can do a pretty good job with the 10+ years of data that we have in our MLS system.

The market here in the Bay Islands at this point is definitely picking up, actually it is pretty ‘brisk’. The lower prices across the board on vacant land and most residential and commercial properties has drawn the attention of the masses in many warm weather locations and Roatan & Utila seem to be no different. Is this a ‘blip’ on the radar screen or the beginning of a trend? Time will tell but from my personal perspective, watching from here not from afar, I think it is the start of a trend in that there are a few developers starting up projects and that historically means they are finding property they want at prices they feel they can sell home sites or build homes or condos on.

As I type, almost every REALTOR on the island is busy. They have clients, just had clients or are expecting them soon. Normally, whether the North American Market goes up or down, we here in the Bay Islands experience a ‘lag time’ of about a year+, whether that is in an upward or downward direction. Last year many of the warm weather locations in the U.S. experienced sales surges, because of low prices. Based on the normal ‘lag time’ we are experiencing the same right now.


Here are some of our new listings and a price reduction-
