I have heard how expensive it is to travel to the island from some and there is no doubt you are traveling to Central America when you come here but I thought I would share what we do.
My wife and I both have Delta AMEX and CITI Bank credit cards. We use them for our purchases throughout the year and generate sky miles. We normally are able to trade, with use of the miles very inexpensively at least a couple of times a year.
In June both of us flew into Jacksonville Florida for about $400.00 round trip on Delta and now in September were able to fly both directions on American for $310.00.
To go roundtrip for less than $200.00 each per trip I think is a steal. I have clients that use miles to take free trips several time a year for free.
