More Accolades
Over the years, the Bay Islands have been highlighted time and time again in international magazines and e-zine publications. Islands Magazine, International Living, and a variety of golf and diving publications are known for singing the praises of the Bay Islands. The Bay Islands have even been declared the best island in the world to retire to.
Here is yet another article declaring Roatan an “Unknown Top Destination.” If you are considering real estate, unknown is a good thing. Prices here are very reasonable compared to most island and/or Caribbean locations.

Pineapple Grill
The Pineapple Grill is the restaurant at the Pineapple Villas Condo complex (also operated as Clarion). There are many desirable attributes of this complex, which include both a spa and a sports bar, but one of the things that I am most excited about is the new menu at the Grill. Known for years as the best place in the country to get a steak, the Grill has reworked its menu and has recently added a salad bar. Now one of the best meals on the island (starting at only $14.95) includes a full salad, soup, and bread bar all served in a beautiful and modern setting.
GARM Clinic
As the island grows and develops, so do available medical options. With the new CEMESA Hospital almost complete, another medical option is now available, the GARM Medical Clinic. Located at Parrot Tree Plantation, the GARM Clinic offers integrative medical treatments for several chronic disease states and/or acute injuries utilizing a customized combination of elective services such as adult autologous stem/stromal cell and biocellular medicine treatments, novel targeted enzyme signaling systems, specialty medical care, general medical care, and basic diagnostic tests. GARM believes in treating the entire patient, not just the disease state. All of GARM’s treatment options are designed to improve a patient’s quality of life.
Chez Lola
Chez Lola is a new restaurant on the island. Lola and her husband, Sebastian, have lived in the Bay Islands for over three years, and recently, they moved from Utila to Roatan. Lola and Sebastian opened a very nice French Restaurant located in the marina at Parrot Tree Plantation. You can check out reviews from their previous location on Utila, Lola’s Utila.
FRESH is the word of the day at Chez Lola. The restaurant has even bought tanks to keep fish fresh. It’s pretty tough to get fresher than that! With French Chef Jessie, patrons have an excellent experience from start to finish. They specialize in Beef Filet in a red wine sauce, shrimp risotto and fish filet in a champagne sauce, but they also have a varied menu of delicious choices. Their weekly special night also includes various international foods. For dessert, how about a crepe suzette or molten chocolate cake? Are you a real foodie? Maybe you need a break from deep-fried everything? Check out Chez Lola. They are worth the drive! Open for breakfast and dinner only. Closed on Friday evenings. White City –
I am unsure if there is real interest out there in this group regarding this subject matter but for me personally it is pretty intriguing. For many decades historically there have been tales about a “hidden” city, the “white city” here in Honduras, in the jungle near the Mosquito coast. There always seems to be some reality in “tales”. In this case a lot of reality in that they have actually found it. Yes the “White City” has been found and historians and archeologists are all over it. Do you have a little “Indiana Jones” in you.
